Career Coach for WFD Training Program

Just-A-Start is looking for a part time Career Coach for the graduates of our Workforce Development Training Program.  Partnering with a local college, this program provides adults with the skills they need to access a career in the Biomedical or Information Technology industry. This is a temporary, 20 hour per week position lasting 4 – 6 months.

  • Facilitate career readiness workshops
  • Assist graduates in developing an Individual Career Development plan
  • Recommend students for job leads based on matched academic aptitude and demonstrated skills.
  • Provide post-employment counseling and support to participants in the next step of their career pathway
  • Maintain constant contact with students via email, phone as new job prospects become available
  • Document and track program outcomes and services to measure impact and comply with funding requirements
  • Work with IT and Bio instructors to evaluate participants’ career readiness skills and develop additional classroom activities and curriculum as needed
  • Support the collection and use of data and participate in program development and evaluation activities


  • B.S. degree preferably and a minimum of two years’ experience in assisting adults in career counseling and job search
  • Passionate about education and workforce development
  • Experience in public speaking, presenting, and group facilitation
  • High level of cultural awareness and respect and commitment working with diverse participants to overcome barriers to success
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
