Housing Stabilization Case Manager - Part Time

Cambridge, MA

Position Summary:

Working closely with the Director of Housing, the Housing Stabilization Case Manager plays a key role in the successful operation of the Housing Resources team to provide access to rental assistance and housing stability services for clients. We seek an aspiring team member who is interested in pursuing a career assisting participants to achieve housing stability with a focus on landlord/tenant relationships.

Responsibilities:

  • Complete and maintain participant files by collecting documentation from clients, property owners, and advocates; reviewing paperwork; and provide case management services to at-risk tenants in a timely manner.
  • Maintain internal database on rental assistance programs and community resources in order to make appropriate internal and external referrals. 
  • Collect required documents from participants and upload into Salesforce database.
  • Enter required data fields into Salesforce and maintain spreadsheets of participants’ data collection compliance and progress.
  • Collect and maintain follow-up data on participants’ progress and outcomes.
  • Maintain compliance with grant and funding requirements and regulations.
  • Assist Supervisor in contract reporting and preparation for monitoring visits.
  • As part of the Housing Resources Team, participate in staff meetings and case conferencing.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

  •  Experience in case management or intake and assessment with households at risk of   homelessness preferred;
  • Familiarity with affordable housing and housing subsidies;
  • Experience with crisis intervention regarding issues such as homelessness and affordable housing access;
  • Knowledge and experience with resources for low-income and/or homeless individuals and families;
  • Willingness to work as part of a team to promote the goals of the program and agency;
  • Sensitivity to the needs of low-income and diverse populations;
  • Strong time management, organizational, and communication;
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Excellent problem solving and people skills;
  • Ability to think creatively and flexibly, in a non-traditional model, to resolve the fundamental issues that can impact housing stability;
  • Cultural competency and ability to establish effective professional relationships with diverse group of participants;
  • Experience with Salesforce preferred;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and G-Suite;  
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish, Haitian Creole, or Portuguese, preferred.
  • BS/BA preferred  

SALARY AND BENEFITS:

This is a 20-hour per week hybrid remote/in-the-office position with a salary range of $28.00-$30.00 per hour. The typical schedule is Monday through Friday, days and hours TBD as this is a part-time position.

 Part time employees working 20+ hours per week are eligible for Paid Time Off (PTO), Holiday Pay,  Employee Assistance Program (EAP), Commuter or Parking Benefit and a 401k savings plan with a 3% employer contribution after 3 months of employment.
